Finding a therapist who understands the nuances of LGBTQ+ lives - without you having to explain the basics - is vital. As a therapist with lived experience within the community, I provide a space where your identity is not just "tolerated," but centered and celebrated.
I offer a deeply personal understanding of the unique joys and challenges we face, from navigating heteronormativity and minority stress to the complexities of queer relationships, self-discovery, and personal growth.
Gender Identity, Transition, and Beyond
I have extensive experience working alongside the trans and non-binary community. I understand that gender is not a static destination, but a landscape influenced by societal constructs and behavioral expectations.
Whether you are in the early stages of questioning or are further along in your journey, I provide support for:
Questioning & Exploration: A safe, non-judgmental space to explore your gender identity away from the pressure of external "shoulds."
Navigating Transition: Supporting you through the emotional, social, and physical complexities of transitioning.
Authenticity in a Challenging World: Developing strategies to live an authentic life in a society that can often be unwelcoming or even dangerous.
I have an interest in how society constructs gender and influences behavioural expectations, and our ever changing landscape.
Dismantling the "Internalized" Narrative
My approach is deeply rooted in an understanding of how shame and internalized homophobia or transphobia can manifest as physical or emotional blocks, both from within and from our own community.
For many LGBTQ+ individuals, the messages we receive from society can lead to a "split" between our identity and our desires. I work with clients to dismantle these internalized narratives, moving away from shame and toward a place of authenticity and freedom.
We don't just "talk" about the struggle; we work to reconnect the parts of yourself that society told you to hide, building a version of masculinity, femininity, or gender-expansiveness that feels truly yours.
Clinical Specialism & PGDip
As part of my commitment to providing high-quality care to our community, I am currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosexual & Relationship Psychotherapy (commencing March 2026). This allows me to offer specialized insights into the intersections of gender, sexuality, and intimacy.
